Probiotic Power for Pediatric Diarrhea
Acute diarrhea is the most frequent gastrointestinal disorder and the main cause of dehydration in childhood. Acute diarrhea causes substantial complications and is the second leading cause of death worldwide in children younger than 5 years of age.
Diarrhea whether infectious or non-infectious, is associated with intestinal dysbiosis which contributes to the severity of the disease. Hence, in addition to fluid replacement, replenishing the disturbed gut microbiota and maintaining healthy gut state is imperative for treating diarrhea.
LGGTM has been the most studied probiotic strain in children and has shown to be effective against pediatric diarrhea of different etiologies. LGGTM have been documented in a large number of clinical trials. These studies demonstrate its beneficial effects like shortening the duration of diarrhea, reducing the number of diarrhea episodes, and reducing the severity of symptoms.
In this E-circular, we have incorporated the flipbook format which is an interactive graphic design that conveys the information in easy and impactful way.
